  • In 2014, the majority (70.6%) of ACT secondary school students recalled having received at least part of an education session in class about skin cancer or protection from the sun during the previous year. 
  • Students were also asked two questions about the causes of skin cancer. In 2014, in reponse to 'Most skin cancer is caused by over-exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun', 93.7% correctly rated the answer as true. In reponse to the second statement 'You only get skin cancer if you burn often' 83.9% correctly rated this statment as false.
