• The population of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the ACT was 6500 (1.6% of the total ACT population) in 2016.
  • The ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population and the ACT total population differed markedly with over half (52.2%) of the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population aged less than 25 years (compared with 32.9% for the total ACT population) where those aged 65+ years comprised only 3.2% (compared with 12.6% for the total ACT population)
