• The percentage of the ACT population born overseas increased from 29.7% in 2001 to 35.3% in 2011.
  • In 2011 the largest number of overseas born residents came from the United Kingdom, followed by China, India and New Zealand.
  • The highest rates of growth between 2001 and 2011 occurred in residents from countries where previously there were none, such as South Sudan and Albania (100%). However the highest numbers were seen in residents from China and India (an increase of 5830 and 4570 residents respectively).
