• Nationally, pharmaceutical abuse and misuse is fast becoming an area of public health concern, at a rate of 1 in 20 Australians in 2016 (AIHW 2016). Of these medications, opioids (including oxycodone) are the biggest contributors.
  • In 2016 in the ACT 2.9% reported misuse of painkillers/analgesics and opioids (2.9%).
